Hello Friends and well wishers,
I am finally making myself happy by opening my own blog so that i can contribute something for the protection and promotion of our rich Denzongpey culture which unfortunately is deteriorating in this globalized century. Friends, we (Bhutias) are also called ‘Lhopos’ and are the
descendants of the Tibetan immigrants who came to Sikkim in different waves
from the 13th century onwards and established the Kingdom in the 17th
century. We call ourselves lhopo (Lho-pa people from south) but are
generally referred to as Bhutia, Sikkimese or even Denzongpa today. Our culture, customs, traditions and language are so rich that we should be feeling proud about. However, in spite of our richness we are today on the edge of deterioration leading us ourselves in the world of men without proper identity. Understanding all these things and being big fan of myself as a Denzongpo i have started this blog especially to appeal and inspire all of you dear thoku (Friend) to act in safeguarding our precious culture and language. Friends, in a days to come, i shall be updating the facts and everything related to the culture, customs, religion, tradtions, language and history. Therefore, i look forward to your comments, suggestions and information so that we could move ahead helping our cause reaching far beyond without hindrances. I may not be a perfect but i will try my best that whatever i share shall be on the basis of complete research that i am into.
